Most installs are quick when the panel has capacity and the charger location is near it. Here is what happens from first contact to final inspection:

1. On-Site Evaluation We look at your panel's available capacity, where you park, and the cleanest route for the circuit. We confirm whether a plug-in receptacle or a hardwired connector fits your charger and your goals.
2. Written Scope & Quote You receive a clear written quote covering labor, materials, the receptacle or connector, permit fees, and inspection. No surprise add-ons after the work starts.
3. Permit Application We pull the electrical permit with your local jurisdiction. An EV circuit is inspected work, and an unpermitted install can void your homeowner's insurance and create problems at resale.
4. Installation We install the breaker, run the dedicated circuit, and terminate at either a heavy-duty EV-rated NEMA 14-50 receptacle or your hardwired wall connector, protected as code requires. When the panel has capacity and the run is short, this is typically finished in part of a day.

5. Inspection & Sign-Off A city or Washington State L&I electrical inspector reviews the completed work, depending on your jurisdiction. We coordinate the inspection and are present for it. Once signed off, the permit is closed and you receive documentation for your records.

Do I need a panel or service upgrade?Sometimes, sometimes not+

It depends on your existing service and what else draws power in your home. Many homes add a charger with no upgrade at all. Where capacity is tight, load management can often make room. Frequently. Many modern chargers can be set to automatically reduce their draw when the rest of the house is using power, so the total never exceeds what your service can handle.
